January, we meet again. From where I’m writing, I can see out of the window. It’s cold, drizzly and grim… typical January weather. Memories of cosy, crisp December days feel like they happened a million years ago, and the warmth and sunshine of summer feels a lifetime away.
I like to use January as a month to start thinking about holidays for the year ahead, and right now, it’s all about summer. I’m thinking camping, ice creams, entertainment and fun in the sunshine – and how better to combine all of those elements, than with a festival?
Let’s face it, not all festivals are family-friendly. When you’ve got young children, you want a festival that combines great fun for the whole family, with safety and entertainment for the youngest members of your entourage.
That’s where Geronimo Festival steps in.
Long-term readers of the blog will remember that we went to Geronimo last year, when it was at Tatton Park and had a fantastic time. We were amazed by the steps they’d taken to make it a truly family-friendly festival, with big-name guests from children’s TV and something to keep everyone entertained.
Geronimo is taking place again in 2017, and it’s relocating to Arley Hall in Cheshire, for a three-day festival extravaganza! I’m so excited to see the festival in its new home – the grounds look absolutely beautiful and I’m sure it’ll be ideal. Another thing I’m really excited for is that this year, they’ve introduced camping and glamping to Geronimo! We’ll be taking SB on her first ever camping trip – but if getting down and dirty in the great outdoors doesn’t sound like your thing, there’s a variety of different glamping options on the Geronimo website, taking the hard work out of the equation!
Some of the glamping options look amazing. As well as affordable tent options, there are comfy-looking Arabian Bedouin tents; Cubes and Cards for a cool, kooky camping experience or the vintage bell tent for that classic glamping experience!
I foresee some dressing up in our future – this year’s theme is Princesses, Knights and Dragons. I can’t see Daf passing up on an opportunity to get all knightly, and SB is going to love the dragon theme! Meanwhile, I’m looking forwards to all the amazing attractions Geronimo has to offer. Last year, our highlights included the arena shows and the activities in the 3ft and Under Zone, including Baby Ballet, Tumble Tots and a bubble show that fascinated us as well as SB!
Cbeebies, CBBC and Citv stars are in the line-up already, giving your little one a chance to see their favourite stars live onstage! The list of activities and attractions Geronimo have got lined up for 2017 is huge – I could go on and on about all the things we’re excited to see and do in May! Circus shows, funfair rides and even a Shetland Pony Grand National – it really is like Glastonbury for kids; adults and children alike will have an amazing festival experience!
Geronimo Festival tickets operate on a tiered system – so the earlier you book, the cheaper your tickets will be. I can’t believe how good the ticket prices are at the moment, considering just how much you get for your money, you really can’t go wrong! Earlybird tickets are available until the end of January, so make sure you don’t miss your opportunity. To see ticket options, click HERE.
